NAK HistoryNu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. was established in 1988 at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Since its founding in 1988, Nu Alpha Kappa has grown to be California's Largest Latino based fraternity. At present, Nu Alpha Kappa is comprised of eighteen chapters representing some of California's, Nevada's, and Colorado's most prestigious private and state funded universities with a membership of over 1000 strong. The dynasty at Fresno began with a small invitation for a meeting which took place in November 22, 1992. This meeting would mark the beginning of a better academic, cultural, and social environment at CSU Fresno. The NAK's got together to express their ideas and to demonstrate that they were part of Fresno State. Although NAK chose to integrate into a Greek system they also decided to make a commitment to retain their Latino culture. NAK PhilosophyNU ALPHA KAPPA is sharing life with others, learning to accept and respect differences in others, working together with cooperative spirit, playing, laughing, singing, studying together, and sharing problems as well as your achievements. It is the fraternity spirit which leads on to care about his neighbor's goods, thus educating the heart to unselfishness. It is loyalty, thoughtfulness, courtesy and encouragement from day to day. It is the opportunity for development of talents and one's full potential. It is real friends, interested in each others family and friends. And anything within the bounds of morality shall receive the commendation of the brothers. Through out the centuries many societies, countries, organizations and regions have failed in their long term main objectives and few of them have been successful for a continuous and prolonged period of time. Many of them started with a vision and strong laws that held them together. NAK GoalsWe NU ALPHA KAPPA, seek the unity and involvement of all students in a more harmonious and brotherly atmosphere through academic, cultural, and social means. There is a need to interface the various backgrounds that constitute the student body at Fresno State in order to improve relations amongst all students and the community in Fresno. |
